HELP US HELP
Tim & Barbara Downs have lived and worked in Africa since 1986. Since their arrival in Africa there have been 37 churches planted, 3 Ministry Training Centers developed, a publishing house, and a Manna feeding center.
In 2002 a civil conflict began in Côte d'Ivoire and hundreds of thousands of people were displaced. Many lost their lives. The need to help the children effected by this war was clear. The Bethesda Home began with this need in mind. The Home is associated with one of our churches in Toumodi, Côte d'Ivoire.
Growing up in Africa has equipped Tim L. Downs in a unique way that enables him to work without encountering many of the problems that face outsiders.
After completing his degree in Intercultural Studies, he served a 3 year internship in Belgium. Following his internship, Tim began a new orphan care project benefiting from the many friends and contacts that he has maintained in Côte d'Ivoire. His vision is to establish self-supporting orphan care programs that do not require outside intervention.
